Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs in Guelph
The city of Guelph has a population of just over 130,000 people and is part of three other cities; Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge. There are just over six different types of drug and alcohol treatment and counseling resources, and the bulk of these services is comprised of twelve-step support groups. The city of Guelph is home to the University of Guelph, and like most universities, there are always issues with students abusing drugs and alcohol. Binge drinking is the most common problem that university students face along with experimental drug use or recreational drug use. Most students in universities do not end up becoming an addict, but some of the drinking and drug use does tend to go to far and for some, this can land them in the emergency room.
